This renovation of the 1885 Emerson School Building headed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation was used to set an example for future preservation projects as a model for older buildings to meet or exceed the highest standards for energy efficiency. APCO Electric was honored to be included as a design build partner in this 22,000 sq. ft. project, which achieved LEED Gold status. APCO Electric provided a new 1600amp service, all new branch power and lighting, refed the existing elevator, and wired for a new HVAC geo-thermal system. This work was accomplished while a portion of the building was occupied.
